Overview

Wood Processing Engineering Technology is a new program that will provide technically prepared human resources for the rapidly expanding wood processing industry.

In addition to the traditional skill development areas, the curriculum will include elements of design, industrial production and processes, as well as business practices such as material management, human resources, finance and marketing.

But the curriculum is still under development with key representatives of all sectors of the wood processing industry being involved in designing the curriculum that best suits their specific needs.

They are considering three broad career options in which students may specialize - the Primary industry dealing with the production of wood products, the Furniture and Fixtures industry and the Manufactured Homes and Components industry.
