Daishowa-Marubeni International Limited (DMI) is a joint venture forest products company first established in Western Canada in 1969 by Daishowa Paper Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and Marubeni Corporation of Japan.
DMI has become one of the top ten pulp producers in North America and a significant supplier of quality lumber to domestic and international markets.
BRITISH COLUMBIA OPERATIONS

ALBERTA OPERATIONS
Daishowa Canada Co. Ltd. began construction of the Peace River Pulp Mill in 1988 and officially opened the mill in 1990. The company expanded their investment in northern Alberta with the purchase of Brewster Construction Ltd. in 1989 and High Level Forest Products Ltd. in 1990.
In 1992, all of these operations became part of Daishowa-Marubeni International Ltd.
Brewster Construction - Located 70 kilometres north of Red Earth, the Brewster mill produces an average of 50 million board feet of dimension lumber per year. Brewster also chips aspen for the Peace River Mill.
High Level Forest Products - DMI's High Level mill produces up to 240
million board feet of quality lumber per year. Like all DMI facilities,
the High Level mill strives to minimize waste. Sawmill chips are sent to
Peace River for manufacture into pulp.
