Fairview College is characterized by innovation and friendliness. Quality career programs are designed in consultation with business and industry to ensure relevance and value. Fairview College operates from six major centres: Fairview, Peace River, High Level, Manning, Fort Vermillon and La Crete. Training for the forestry sector is coordinated from a base at the Boreal Wood Centre, located in Manning.

Fairview College programs such as Turfgrass Management Technology, Animal Health Technology and Motorcycle Mechanics enjoy wide industry recognition for being among the best in North America. Besides being the apprenticeship trades centre for Northwest Alberta, the College is a training leader in specialized mechanical trades and is the home of the Trev Deeley Building and Canada's only factory-endorsed Harley-Davidson Technical Training School.

Fairview College is expanding rapidly in forest industry training. The College, through the Boreal Wood Centre, provides industry with practical training, delivered on-site at mills in the region. Fairview College intends to build on its already successful base of forestry training in Silviculture and Woodlot Management. The College will form part of a network of Colleges and education centres working with the new "National Centre for Advanced Wood Processing" at UBC. Fairview College will help residents of Northern Alberta to prepare for careers in the forest industry through a new certificate program in wood processing. Graduates of this program will be attractive to employers in Alberta's rapidly growing forest industry.

Fairview College provides access to northern Albertans through the use of interactive technology. The Boreal Wood Centre houses a Community Access Point featuring distance delivery through video-conference. Training and career research is also conducted using the Internet and multi-media training software.
